Dr Song's ability to be open and vulnerable became stunted due to developing a much more compartmentalized and clinical personality in order to do her job.
Dr Song talks about her vulnerability, the triggers, and the realizations that were brought up by specific moments in "Eyes". Also, there are some similarities between how she is perceived as a clinical psychologist and how the Psi Corps are treated.
This is the first episode of Babylon 5 that Dr Song thoroughly enjoyed from a fan perspective. I can say that I have never witnessed her so excited about an episode.
