Babylon 5 Season 1 Finale

After 15 years of trying, Dr Jennie Song has finally finished season 1 of Babylon 5 using Elaine Barlow’s Media Therapy Modality! I want to personally thank everyone who has stuck with this project from the beginning especially those who fully UNDERSTOOD that this project was NOT about B5 and was focused on someone else’s therapeutic process.

Both myself and Dr Song appreciate all the emails and positive comments about what this process has meant to you. Dr Song has been through a lot in these past 15 years … including finishing her graduate program, writing and defending her dissertation, becoming a licensed psychologist and, of course, opening her own private practice which she runs all aspects by herself ALL WHILE battling painful and debilitating chronic illness and autoimmune disease and still gives 200% to all of her clients.

Her staying dedicated and determined to complete this project through all of that is absolutely astounding.

Dr Song has been using media therapy in her own practice and finds a tremendous amount of success with it which is really incredible for me to witness.

When I created this modality back in the 90s … never in a million years did I imagine that it would be taken seriously or used in a clinical way. Dr Song understood it, tried it, used it for herself and her own progress, and saw the potential for it to be used to help others. She has stated many times that the process has helped her become a better person and a better psychologist.

Dr Song has expressed a desire to continue with this project and with Babylon 5.

We both hope you’ll continue to enjoy the project and her process.

Dr Song talks about many things in this finale session including:

  1. How she sees herself in every character and discusses each one
  2. What she thinks the Minbari/Sinclair prophecy is (since we never find out until like season 3)
  3. What she thinks Delenn is becoming inside the chrysalis (she has never seen any pictures of B5 or Mira so she has legitimately no idea what’s coming)
  4. Why she loves JMS’s writing
  5. Her feelings about the role of disclosure in therapy as a psychologist who posts videos showing her own vulnerabilities

    … and much, much more
